Golgi apparatus

an organelle that occurs in the cytoplasm of both plant and animal cells. It is made from stacks of membrane-bound structures known as cisternae. An individual stack can be referred to as a dictyosome, especially in plant cells. It is particularly important in the processing of proteins for secretion.
