sound technique

any device used to convey the sound track of a film to the viewer/listener. Clever use of sound techniques can add to the enjoyment of viewers by supporting the director's intention (to thrill, to scare, to calm, to create a romantic atmosphere, etc.) There are different sound techniques. See exaggerated sound, non-synchronous sound, synchronous sound and voice over.
