Advertisers plan and design their advertisements to appeal to a specific audience (see target audience). They try to appeal to peopleâ??s concerns, e.g. about peer pressure, health, wealth, fame, fashion or community values. Advertisements promote awareness of a particular product or brand (see brand), e.g. a financial services group that owns a retail bank, a merchant bank and an insurance company could advertise each of these separately and/or advertise the brand as a whole.
